It was a toss up for me between Votto and Cabrera and I ALMOST took Big C when I heard the guy was pretty much drunk the whole time he was blasting away last year and went to rehab to clean himself up this offseason. I was like "whoa, if he could do that drunk, imagine what he could do sober!!" but alas, looks like the big man has fallen off the wagon.
I had major surgery a few years ago to remove a growth in my salavary gland and they ended up having to take the whole gland out (don't worry I don't look like Roger Ebert) I tried to live the same life but quickly realized alcohol was something I'd have to give up. (I'd get severely dehydrated from just a couple of drinks, loopy, forgetful, and I could feel it's effects for days.) I used to pride myself on the amount of liquor I could handle! hehe Believe me it was a tough battle for me .At my age with my friends and a family of drinkers (my family is european (serbian/italian)) so believe me, alcholol is a huge part of the culture. It was a tough road but I eventually found the strength to give it up for good.
My prayers go out to the big man, hopefully he can figure it out because he truly is a special talent.
