The protected player has to be the highest salaried card for that player?
So, if no one takes Tex, I can't protect A-Rod?

You won't need to protect A-Rod if no one drafts Texas, because only free agents that don't have a card on a drafted franchise / city can be selected. If you own the highest priced card that was drafted for a player, you own the protection rights.

ahh - it's becomming clear - lol

so if Texas is drafted, then ARod can only be protected by whoever drafts them. If not protected then he can be picked up by either myself or the owner of Texas depending on the autodraft?

If he isn't autodrafted by either team, then he can be picked up later by either team, but only by those 2 teams?

Are the players on the drafted teams, available for the 2 free agents under the stated salary caps? If so, guess they could only be picked up after the autodraft?

All players on any drafted franchise / team are not eligible for either the round 4 draft or subsequent autodraft free agency. The pool of free agents will be limited to players from the round one leftover teams and round two leftovers who do not have a card on any drafted franchise/team.
