Maybe we need to reinstitute the clock for the next league?[/quote:2c95cb80bf]

I think the holiday weekend was part of the problem.

My availability is going to be CRAP for next week (three days in DC, though with bathroom breaks and my iPhone I can do a draft as long as I plan ahead). If Congress doesn't pass a budget or a continuing resolution by the 4th, I will have PLENTY of time for strat. Plenty.[/quote:2c95cb80bf]

Are you a lobbyist, PKB?

You know, we've been going at a blistering pace for five or six weeks now. A slow one is not so terrible. Let's just start the next one as soon as we're done with Random Menace! :D[/quote:2c95cb80bf]

Congress won't shut down after the 4th. Which is a shame, really.

The people threatening to "shut down the government" are just being irresponsible.

My wife might.

The folks at the two places I get lunch at might too. But not too many people.

Well, the last time they did a shut down, back when Clinton was the POTUS, I'm told everyone went and filed unemployment on their way out. The shutdown got resolved in two weeks, and everyone went back to work. And they got paid for the two weeks they were off. And had to return their unemployment checks. Which basically means, you, the tax payers (like me), paid for two weeks of extra vacations and extra stress for your executive branch. I am a productivity maniac. This makes me nuts. It should make everyone nuts, since we get a ton of vacation anyway (I'm up against the use or lose for vacation by the end of the year if I don't use something like 20 days).

Really, Congress should go without pay or benefits until they hammer out a budget or at least a continuing resolution.

Absolutely. Their job is to work things out together, not posture and issue idle threats through the media.

How about for the next one we cut down on the number of rounds (maybe 10?) and go to waivers?
