Worst ever fielding rating for gold glover?

How about the 3e7 for Jeter. Gold glove winners are almost always rated 1. And I have always felt Strato was extra lenient on NYY fielders.

Is this the worse fielding rating ever for a gold glove winner?

I believe Abreu won a GG and was rated a 3...maybe a 4

I think the better question is: If even Hal can realize that his beloved Yankee shortstop is nowhere near a good defender anymore, why the heck can't the voters?

Or better yet: Has there ever been a worse recipient for the gold glove than Jeter last year?

Easy answer: Rafael Palmerio Average at best, and completely undeserving of a GG.

Willie Wilson won a GG in center field one year. Horrible choice. Sure he had good range, but he never really got a great jump on the ball, and often made fairly routine plays look much better than they really were. His predecessor in CF, Amos Otis, could probably throw better underhand than Willie Wilson ever did in his career.

Being a Yankee hater, I never thought Scott Brosius deserved one either.

i agree i think palmero won a gg and only played 29 games in the field in 99

Without exaggeration, I am willing to bet that Stratomatic does a much better job at evaluating players at their position than the Gold Glove voters. I would go with Strato's assessment!

I thought that Dave Kingman deserved a gold glove in his day. He caught every ball with 3 feet of his position in Leftfield. 8-)

gOLD GLOVE DESERVED,,maybe because no one else in the league wanted it at short last year. Jeter made the fewest errors but yes didn't have great range, i would have rated him a 2. Just because you hate the Yankees shouldn't equal putting them down when they have done a great job.

I have one on the opposite end of the spectrum...

How in God's name did they gift Pablo Sandoval with a 3 range? By August, he seriously couldn't even bend over and reach his toes. I watched a LOT of Giants games, and that man was a 4 if ever I saw one.
