Like General McLellan during the Civil War (per A. Lincoln), this draft "has a bad case of the slows"

To Gfdwarf: I didn't think you were criticizing the pick. No problem whatsoever. I'm just trying to figure out how to trade for Paul Popovich...

Trying to raise $25 for Mashed Taters II. Over 150 pts - North Carolina tonight should do it.

Popovich is available. Actually, the draft-trades are not working out real well for the Cubbies and I'd like to make some moves. PM me if interested.

Reds Pick

Postby evanthomas » Fri Mar 25, 2011 4:56 pm

Reds select hoyt wilhelm. With all the leadfoots we've got, a slowball pitcher fits right in.

Boston (LMBombers) trades Ken Brett to Oakland (rjnewman) for Marcel Lachemann.

I remember seeing Marcel's brother Rene Lachemann as a coach of a team (I forget which team now) in spring training 10-15 years ago (maybe more, time flies). He was the 3rd base coach for that game and was quite the character exchanging quips with the crowd. He seemed like a really good guy.
