How do the rest days work in the playoffs?

If a non starred pitcher pitches in game 3 of the semi finals, what is the earliest he can pitch in the finals?

Example: since there is 1 rest day after the semi-finals, if the semi-finals goes only 3 games, does this mean the non-starred pitcher can't pitch until game 4 of the finals? Or are the non played games 4 and 5 counted as rest days, so that this pitcher would then be available for game 2 of the finals?

(In the latter scenario , non played games 4&5 are rest days, plus 1 rest day, plus game 1 of the finals as a rest day...)
