Walter Johnson tosses 11 inning no hitter w/14 strikeouts

Postby BDWard » Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:50 pm

Walter Johnson pitched the first hitless 11 innings in a 12 inning no hitter as Three Finger Brown fired 11 scoreless innings for the opposition in what has to rate as one of the best pitching duels ever. Relievers Larry Andersen and Al McBean combined to pitch a hitless inning to preserve the gem as Johnson's team tallied 5 runs in the top of the 12th against Bruce Sutter to win 5-0.

This was in an ATG6 $100 mil league and it was Johnson's $7.77 mil card that pitched the no hitter. Johnson finished the season 20-14 4.63
