Trading Freehan for Herndon with Franky35. Down to 3 catchers. Well one catcher a LF and a 1B.

I don't especially like the team SPhillip drafted for me. So, if you see anyone on my roster you'd like to trade for - let me know. We can probably work something out.

great, i get the number 1 pick and i am gone all weekend with limited computed access. i was thinking of allowing time for us to work out trades as that will influence good drafting strategy.

i have george scott, decinces, mayberry and reese available. looking for ss, of, or pitching.

Rules Clarification

Postby pwootten » Sat Apr 09, 2011 9:31 am

I hope this doesn't mess up the trades already made, but in keeping with the spirit of the team, the amount a manager has to spend on five free agents cannot be more or less than $20-$25M the original range set forth on the boards. If trades swing a manager beyond that point they still have to keep picks within the range.

For example, trading several $3M players for several $1M players does not open up additional cap room beyond the original range.

Make sense?

Paul,

Does that rules clarification apply only to the 5 draft picks, or does it also apply to the entire season?

The entire season would be very difficult to keep track of.

Excellent question Franky. Anyone have a suggestion? We might just have everyone on the honor system, which won't be hard to track. We could say that Good GM picks can never total more than the amount a manager has to spend at the beginning. If I have $24 to spend now I can never spend more than $24. How does this sound?

And you have me to thank for that wonderful roster!

And I'm looking for a SS, 2B, and SP if anyone has one to spare...be honest...nobody is off limits on my roster other than Hall

Paul, I'm glad you clarified the salary rules from this point forward. I would not have assumed but might have guessed that all we were only bound by was the total salary cap going forward.

So, if I am to understand the salary cap rule, you can end up with LESS than $20 million to spend on your 5 free agents, but you cannot spend MORE than $25 million on your 5 free agents, even if you make trades that free up room OVER $25 million. If you currently have $20 million to spend, you CAN make a trade to free up more room UP TO a maximum $25 million.

Correct?
