Ducapa - reading over the updated draft rules by round I was looking for clarification on some of your notes -

ROUND 1: I think this is considered round 1, where we sign up with our initial team. So we are currently in round 1.

ROUND 4: I'm not seeing where there will be leftover franchises with a 2 1/2 team draft - 12 teams and 2 full franchises leaves 6 teams for the 1/2 round draft to cover all 12 teams in our league. So I'm not seeing where there will be a bonus player available.

I guess I wasn't thinking that the initial signup was a round per se because we are taking our hometown team no matter how good or bad. Then we will shift to draft mode on the ILC and draft 3 rounds starting in reverse salary order of our home team. Pick any franchise in rd. 1, then pick half franchise in rd. 2. (Choice of 3 closest franchises to your hometown, determined by mileage). If there is any questions about rd. 2 then I can list the choices as the round progresses. Yes, there will be no teams left for a third round bonus player. Any ideas to make this a little more interesting? Maybe a 3rd. Rd. "Rule 5" draft where each owner can steal a player from another owner's drafted 1 1/2 teams with some type of salary limit?

I would have thought a simple round 2 in reverse order of "round 1" would be the fairest and simplest approach.

then round 3 would be for the half teams and likely a lottery derived draft order would be most fair.

Well since the first team is not in any order of talent, but by hometown I thought reverse order of salary w/b most fair for actual draft.

As far as your 1 player draft thoughts, rule 5 or something - personally, I think its best if you keep the concept simple and don't try to introduce to many additional 'themes' into the theme. We already have the hometown idea that affects what 1/2 team is available, plus the restricted ballpark with Coors, and the overall 2 1/2 theme. So that's 3 theme ideas rolled into one - adding another variation doesn't seem necessary. Keeping it simple seems best. The 2nd round full team draft order still seems like an outstanding question - generally its reverse of round one although the idea to do it low-to-high on salary is an interesting one. I think if these things are finalized it will maybe make others join. With some things up in the air I think folks tend to stay away.
