does this qualify...

First player taken in given round is Pagan and he is posted as a RF pick...does that mean Bautista cannot be picked as a 3b in that same round?

It does NOT mean that. As long as 3B hasn't been used Batista can be used as a 3B for that round in your example.

i was 12th in a draft where 12th is the worst possible spot

It was the give and take draft we just finished. I was 11th and Jack was 12th.
