Deadline on Waivers

Postby artie4121 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 11:21 am

What is the deadline time tonight (Thursday) that a waivers league would have to be completed in order to have a Saturday waivers?

9 p.m.?

Midnight?

Please advise, and thanks in advance.

[quote:0aa9d3b1ae]The Auto-Draft for this league will be run within 10 minutes after the last open spot is filled, between the hours of 9am and 12am ET.

I don't have a lot of experience but wouldn't it be Midnight EST? The homepage says that the draft will take place 10 minutes after all teams are entered and in that case as long as it is between 9 am and midnight it will be entered that day.

Am I missing something or are we talking about the same thing?

It would probably be best to get them in before 11 EST though just to be safe.

Thanks guys. . .

And, from what you have experienced, what this means is that if a league is complete tonight by 11 or so -- within that window -- then the Waivers are run TWO DAYS later at 5:00 p.m.

Thursday night - Saturday waivers
Friday night - Sunday waivers,

etc.

We're just trying to avoid an Easter Sunday waivers, and would rather hold off completing the load until Saturday morning, than load tomorrow for Sunday.

Thanks for your background on this. . .

For clarity the deadline is indeed Midnight. If it's 12:01am tonight waivers will run Sunday. Anytime up to midnight, waivers will be Saturday.

This is why Frenzy leagues are best. I wonder why more people do not do Frenzy leagues. There is no waiting to fix your team in a Frenzy league. I do not think I will play anymore non Frenzy leagues ever again.

Personally I have never joined a frenzy league (in a non-theme league) and never will. I like the stability of knowing when waivers will run. If you are not the 12th team to join a theme league you might not know when the league fills and be left out as others pick up all the good free agent players.

Everyone is supposed to get an e-mail when all leagues fill, including Frenzy Leagues. Meaning that everyone should have time to prepare for a midnight EST, or 9:00pm (Pacific time) free agency period opening. This would seem to be more convenient to at least some people, as opposed to a 5:00pm or 2:00pm (Pacific) free agency opening period which is right in the middle of the work day. And personally I can not stand waiting two or three days for free agency. Especially when I need a lot of work to fix my team.

I am thankful for both options, and I love the Frenzy format. I am surprised more people do not find it more satisfying and convenient.
