Darnit. Lost two 1-run games to the 1-run King Silver last night. He;s now 21-11 in 1-run games. No one else is even close to that.

We lost two more one runners last night, one in which Halladay got hurt in the fourth. :(

Looks like it will be another lost season for the Burgundy. I *think* this team is actually pretty decent, but I guess not.

Another no hitter for Felix last night. My team is lousy but at least he's producing.

Well, Smokey is kinda close at 18-15, but yeah, we've had the right combo of luck & good bullpen so far. The saberheads always put the caveat about 1-run games that a 1-run record is mostly luck but [b:5ecf32b169][i:5ecf32b169]can[/i:5ecf32b169][/b:5ecf32b169] be influenced by a really good bullpen, and that's what we seem to have.

Meek has pitched 101 innings in 93 games, and sports a microscopic .73 WHIP. It's ridiculous but we have an RP leading both the MVP and Cy Young races a bit past the midway mark. Now that I've thoroughly and utterly jinxed my squad, I now return you to your scheduled broadcast....

Well, it's nice to get your RPs actually pitching anywhere near their cards. Hensley, Lopez, Wood, Romero, and Zumaya have just sucked for me. We have 16 saves and 16 blown saves. Brutal.

Ho hum, another night, another 20 runs allowed, 2 losses including one by one run in extras where we left 14 on base. Very frustrating team.

So it goes. When's NLD 28?

Gee, we managed to win two games tonight, but still allowed 21 runs and lost both Rosales and Votto. Ugh.

But, hey, we won a one run game!!!! Wooooo HOooo 8-)

Joe, I'm reading your comments about your team and they sure sound familiar. When was the last time your NLD team did NOT under-perform your ratings? :?

Probably the back-to-back leagues we won the Ring. ;) NLD 21-22. Actually, 23 wasn't bad. The three since then have been tough. We've also been in the toughest division this league and last.

Seriously though, do you think this pitching should be *this* bad? IDK, maybe hensley and Halladay and Myers and Zumaya are completely over priced. But, we only gave up 8 runs tonight, won a game by one run and one in extras! Amazing. Actually, really amazing considering that Rosales was out v 2 LHSP and Votto was also out.

Our record in one run games has come back to be closer to normal, but the last two leagues it's been pretty bad. That's going to hurt you and it wears on you too. It we were at our Pythag, it wouldn't be so bad. That's a five game swing. We'd be 5 out of first. NBD.

You suck? No we suck. Gave up 34 runs tonight. :(

Amazingly we won the middle game in 13 innings after another BS by Hensley. (we're 20 for 38 in saves)

We're just horrible on the mound. It's just silly at this point. I mean, I know it's a hitter's park, but yeesh.

In all seriousness, should I have expected this pitching to just get lit up across the board? Teams are hitting .280 against us and our WHIP is 1.48. Was I just wrong about these guys? I know our D isn't the best, but it's not horrid either.

Hey Joe,

I haven't seen good results from any of your SPs in my 200M leagues, and Hensley has been so-so for me in the 1 league I own him. I think Zumaya is better than he's pitched for you so far, but he's been used a ton so that may be impacting you, but the big issue is usage/sidedness and park fit:

Halladay: getting creamed by LHs (about 60% of PAs against)
Hensley: ditto
Wood: ditto
Lopez: getting creamed by RHs and facing them 2/3 of the time

In your park I would have gone for a reverse RH or LH for my top 2 SPs at a minimum, and a high-value LH RP is a must. Just not a great fit between pitching roster & park IMHO...

All that said, your record definitely below your Pythag so bad rolls also a factor.....
