I'm fine with it now that he has actually signed Big, but in other leagues I was slapped for this previously because sometimes these signings are announced VERY prematurely, like months before the actual signing happens. It's the difference between agreeing to terms & actually signing a contract, and at times the teams rescind the deal if medicals don't work out.

FROM PAGE 1 of this thread RULE 4:

[b:62b9ead21a]4) Only those players without MLB experience signed by MLB teams are eligible for any prospect draft.

a)Spring Propsect Eligibility: Prospects are defined as any player that has a signed contract with an MLB organization that has no MLB experience [color=red:62b9ead21a]prior to the start of the Propsect draft.[/color:62b9ead21a][/b:62b9ead21a]

For this draft doesn't matter if it's draftee or signee, if the contract wasn't signed prior to the start of our draft, he's ineligible.

The rule was written to prevent someone from waiting to make a draft pick until the player signed .sign after the draft and usually applies more to the Summer prospect draft, but it is a rule none the less.

That said if no one has a problem with it, we can let it go seeing as he has signed now.

I would have responded sooner, but I had my pupils dilated at an eye appointment this morning and could not see the computer screen clearly until now.

It was a miricle I posted my previous post truth be told, becuase i was doing it half blind.

Well, I apologize for not being privy to the unwritten rules, but there is nothing in the rules that I have about a player needing to be signed before the draft starts. Although it does make sense.

I'll drop him if you all want me too, but I'm beginning to think that I'm doomed in these keeper leagues.

Sorry. I may be thick about Strato keeper leagues, but not when it comes to grammar. You need to reposition the phrase 'prior to the start of the prospect draft'. As it stands it qualifies the 'no prior MLB experience' part, and NOT the 'must be signed' part.

I'll re-pick later. Why do I already know that Silver will end up with him in the end?

Big, I could seriously care less about this kid, he was not on my radar screen at all, and my OF is set for years to come with CarGo, Hamilton & Trout. I have just gotten slammed for this in other leagues so don't want a double-standard applied when it's the same rule copied & pasted to this league.

Hey guys - it is apparent that I don't have the horses to run in this race, much to my dismay and hope. I have a number of pieces that would be a help to any contenders for this season and next. Anyone seeking prime tools can come a knockin'. I'll be looking for draft picks and prospects for next year, but will consider all offers. I have a few untouchables and they should be obvious - but guys like Thome, Suzuki, Cain, Kuroda, Infante, Ross and others can be had (though I won't be giving the store away).
