24TKL (aka 2x12TKL) Annual FA Draft

KD, you'd never drop out! In this league, though, with 24 teams involved, there certainly are plenty of sharks circling around, so it is probably a very good idea to wait.

I scuttled a deal because I was at the end of my clock. While I'm all in favor of giving some leeway at the start here, we need to keep the rules the same for everyone.

I agree the rules need to be the same for everyone. But to allow skipping in the 1st round is just wrong, especially when the talent pool is so shallow and the league twice the size as a regular league.

Like I said, and despite Cubit's assurances, the minute I get skipped in round one of [b:2490508311]any draft[/b:2490508311] I won't be around to be skipped in round 2. And I'm certain I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Please note that Gorzelanny is listed as an available pitcher, but I think he is on my roster, per the roster list!

I agree, Grant -- although there's been NO change in the rules.

...Red Beards' window is from 1:00-4:00 and he's willing to wait for Evan

...KD's window would be from 4:00-7:00 and he's willing to wait, too

...Cubit's window would be from 7:00-10:00 and it sounds as if he might be willing to wait, too.

If all that is true, then the rules are still in effect, and 3 patient managers are giving Evan a chance to get on board.

Hi all,

Just to weigh in, I think this league is different from 12-team leagues but not in the way KD suggests. I am in favor of a clock from Rnd 1. 24 owners is simply [b:07e3b2b62b]too much catherding[/b:07e3b2b62b] for us not to run a clock. There has to be a place for individual responsibility here. In 12-team leagues we can afford to be more generous, less people are affected, but 1 slowdown here causes a much greater downstream effect.

If you are invested in the league, you're paying attention and you reap the rewards. If you are not invested & not paying attention, you pay the price. Sorry I know this is Darwinistic but that's my take.

I agree qk, but if a manager misses a pick in the first round then ends up not returning, it would be hard to find a replacement manager.

Shouldn't all this discussion be in the other thread, not on the draft thread?
