Return of Pelzer Real Franchise league - full again

Postby LARRYLANG » Wed May 18, 2011 12:40 pm

Been away for a while and ready to return for some theme league action. This theme league will be for 3 leagues total. The first league (all are 2010) will be the 12 teams with the worst record...2nd league will be the 10 middle tiered teams and the world series winner and runner up from league #1..The 3rd and final league will be the top 8 teams with the best records and world series winners from leagues 1 & 2...All teams will be named their real names and will play in their own stadiums. We will do one vote during sign-up for DH or no DH and it will remain the same for each league..We will draft franchises from the list provided, by lotto high to low on the nite the draft fills..so you will have to also enter you state lotto pick on sigh-up. The winner and runner up will keep their franchise for next leagues.. Only players carded with your franchise are elegible to you...Divisions are determined by order of sign-up...This should be fun and very competitive as teams are pretty equal...Lotto for leagues 2 and 3 will be upon completion of previous league...And lastly, if you are the kind of manager that does not like alot of banter and fun leagues this one will not be for you. Here is the breakdown of the leagues:

League #1
1. Arizona 65-97
2. Pittsburg 57-105
3. Chicago 75-87
4. Houston 76-86

8. Seattle 61-101
9 KC 67-95
10. Cleveland 69-93
11. Baltimore 66-96
12. La Angels 80-82

League #2 will consist of: League #1 WS winner and runner up plus, SD, Fla, Stl, Col, La Dodgers, Oak, Det, CWS, Tor, Bos:

League #3 will be WS winners and runner ups of both leagues 1 & 2 plus these teams: TB, NYY, Minn, Phil, SF, Cin, Atl, and Texas.

Is there a salary cap for any of these leagues?

I guess we'll have to make it 200 mil just for league purposes. In the first league we may not be able to make minimum salary requirements..So basically what evr it takes to get your drafted francise.

Are we using the regular 2010 game or the "unleashed" set of players which adds about 10 or so players with very good stats who had very few ABs?

Hey Larry, I know you are an Okie now but last year I went through Pelzer, SC and I thought about my old buddy Larry. I found a chain of restaurants around Columbia called the Lizard's Thicket and man do they have some good vittles. Good home cookin can be found there.

Well Randy--I have no clue. Didn't know there was such a thing as unleashed. How many extra players does it add and is it realistic? I'm good with it either way. Where do I see these guys?

Never been to that restuarant. Been to Colombia many times though. Used to go watch the Gamecocks some.

You can see the 2010 set or the 2010 unleashed set here:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/stratomatic/about/research.html

The only difference between the sets is that the below players are not in the regular set but are included in the unleashed set. You can bet the below players will see lots of playing time if we use the unleashed set. You be the judge if you want them or not:

Donnie Murphy
Casper Wells
Josh Fields
Osvaldo Martinez
Wilson Ramos
Luis Hernandez
Steve Tolleson
Jay Gibbons
Brandon Allen
Robert Andino
Max Ramirez
Dillon Gee
