Are the mystery card games dead?

Postby Ducky » Wed May 25, 2011 11:15 pm

Honestly, a guy cannot join a 70's or 90's league. As of this afternoon there were none available at 80M. The '80s has been stuck at three teams since yesterday. I am really beginning to feel like the mystery card games have run their course. If they die, I am done. No fun playing the single season games that are almost 100% about the draft.

Mike I joined a 70's league that filled Tuesday night. I think most mystery card gamers are playing the 90's right now which makes the 70s and 80s a little slow I guess. In that 70's league I just joined there are 4 players who have less than 100 SOM rating points which means they are new players. In fact two of them had zero points so they are brand new to the game! New blood is always good for the game. I have offered help to the two players with zero points as I want them to enjoy their experience and continue to be active mystery card players. All of us vets should share our knowledge with new mystery card players when we see them in leagues. That is the best way to keep them around.

I think those two older games will be rejuvenated as well when they are brought into the main game engine and given upgrades like Bernie just posted would happen this year! I'm currently working on some ideas for the 80s game that I will be posting in a few days.

I agree with you that the mystery card games are the best part of TSN/SOM and they aren't going anywhere. Create a league and they will come. 8-)

The 90's do fill pretty fast. Not being in the main game engine is a problem. I've wanted to join a 70's league a couple of times but my five pack credits don't translate to the 70's and it's not worth the effort to switch them over.

As much as I love the look of the old interface, we need to push the moving of the 80s game over the 70s game to the main site if we could only have one done for now.
The 80s game really needs more players added more than anything else. I'll be sad to lose them, but the 80s game has quite a few bargains too so the pricing needs updating as well.

I don't know Randy, but the '80s league has had three teams for three days now, the '90 has had one team in a league this week and after the '70s league filled a few days ago, no new league has been started. Where are all the players? I was actually looking to field a '90s team since late last week without one coming available.

You may just have to create a league yourself. The 90s game does not have auto leagues, so they have to be created.

If you create it, they will come. :)

70s? Count me "In"

Howdy,

I'm more comfortable with the Mystery Card variant of SOM; especially the 70s. I'll be selecting another weak-hitting, good-pitching team today or tomorrow.
