Question regarding waiver claims

What happens if your first round pick during waivers was already picked by another team? Do you get your second pick in the first round, assuming that no other team has picked him, or do you walk away with nothing in the first round and hope you get your second pick in the second round?

Maybe it's easier to explain with an example. Say my waiver claims are in the following order:

1. Pujols
2. McCann
3. Soria

If another team picks Pujols before I do in round one, does McCann become my first round pick if no else picked him? If both Pujols and McCann are picked before it's my turn, does Soria become my first round pick if no one else ahead of me put a claim on him in the first round? Or, if Pujols is gone in the first round before it's my turn, do I walk away with nothing in round one?

I am thinking that you are right: Your second round (or third round) pick becomes your first round pick.

Any confirmation from you other guys?

Think of it as order of preference instead of picks per round and it'll make more sense.
Yeah, if you miss Pujols, you'll get the next highest guy on your list.

No, you all are incorrect.

If you miss on Pujols you will get the next First Baseball (below Pujols) not on someone's draft card.

Same for McCann as your second pick. If someone had him first you get the next catcher below McCann. Then so on down the line. Theoretically you could miss everyone on your draft card.

If you're referring to the autodraft list, then what Jeepdriver said is correct.

If you're referring to after draft waivers, which is what I thought you meant, then what I said is correct.
