Is HAL fried?

Is HAL fried?

I've never experienced this before. In the 2002 season I have Craig Counsell. He's missed 41 of my first 87 games and yes, he's currently out for FIVE more games!!! That will make it 46 of the first 92. I realize Counsell is a "3" injury rating but damn. And I'm not counting the "rest of game" time he has missed.

Can someone who has played this game for a while tell me if this is even quasi-normal ? If it's not normal then what gives? Can a "3" injury player miss half of all his total season starts? Should a three be even close to that? I've never seen it. Is there something wrong with the earlier seasons? Again, I hope someone like Bernie or whomever has some real knowledge about HAL can shed some light here. This is getting goofy. Hell, it's already goofy.

In the 70s game, I had Rod Carew 1975 play in only 113 out of 162 games, and he was on my team from game 1.
Yes, he's a 15 game injury risk (599! AB+BB), but he only has a 1 injury rating.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, these things happen.

Unfortunately yes it happens. On a 2010 team playing right now I had Geovany Soto miss 21 of the first 40 games. He then came back in Game 42 and.....wait for it.....got another 15 game injury. He's a 4, but that's missing 36 of the first 57 games! Before he could curse the rest of my team, I dropped him.....

I've diagnosed the problem. HAL has OCD. Sometimes HAL gets stuck and needs to repeat certain behaviors over and over.

Geesh, I hope it's not contagious to my other players. Although B. Giles had missed 10 games of the first 75 on that 2002 team and he has 600+ PA's. Oh well.

HAL needs a good med.

Injuries never happen like that in real life,........oh wait a minute yes they do. Sorry to be a jerk, but it happens in real life and it happens in SOM. It is part of the game. That is why I always spend a little more than .50 million on backup players. Luck is a big part of the game, as in real life.
