On a side note, I just checked one of my 90's leagues where Piazza is 1st in OPS, 1st in HR's, 1st in RBI, 1st in slugging, 1st in hits and two points off the batting lead to Gwynn at .374, yet he is not leading the MVP voting. ARod is leading for a team with the best record, while Piazza is a close second for my wild card contender that has just won six in a row to climb into contention. So maybe HAL does give some credit to team performance in the MVP voting. I don't see any other way Piazza can not be leading the MVP voting as it is tough to argue that his performance has not been the best. ARod a close second in HR and RBI and out of the top ten in batting at .330 and fourth in OPS, slugging .070 less than Piazza.
