Not my team but happened to a friend last night. Check out his 9th inning

".....split on the road by hitting 5 consecutive solo BP HRs off Schultz in the top 9th at Wrigley to overcome a 3-1 deficit after Maddux held me to 1 solo HR thru 8!"

I was just about to post this myself, I was on the losing end of this one. Maddux gives up just one run in 8 innings in Wrigley '78 only for Schultz to come in and give up 5 BP HRs. On the bright side, Clear got it done. If only I had a 6 run lead

This is so unusual that I had to look deeper, so I checked the individual player cards for the rolls indicated.

Interestingly, the box score shows each of the BPHR being hit to [b:19b3900db1]LF[/b:19b3900db1]. However, on Thomas' and Petro's cards, the bphr indication is for balls hit to [b:19b3900db1]CF,[/b:19b3900db1] not LF, and on Kiner's the hit is to [b:19b3900db1]RF[/b:19b3900db1]. Glitch, or is there some override for bphr that I'm not aware of?

I noticed that as well and thought that made it even more unusual. Still, crazy end to a game. In real baseball (professional level), I've only seen 3 in a row hit. Of course, I've never seen a line-up (in real life) like that either.

Bizarre! Absolutely bizarre. You can't even really make a case for the redistribution of outs for realism. Every other ballpark hit in the game 9siongle or homer) was hit to center or right field. Still, there's no dire need to balance the out totals to left field in such a way.

Come on guys, this "normalization" thing has now jumped the shark. Five right handed dead-pull hitters hit their HRs to LEFT FIELD!!!! SHOCKING!

Did Gorman Thomas ever hit a HR to right field in his lifetime? :)

Four consecutive homeruns has occurred in MLB on three different occasions.

Wow, 22 wins in a row at $140 mil! How about a link?

JedimasterTjg1, 22 wins in a row at any level is REALLY impressive, but I'd be shocked if anyone ever had more at $140 mil. How about posting a link to that team? Thanks. - Bernie W
