'69 DD Live Draft Done...and Away We Go!!!!

Our historical single season sets

Postby Paul_Long71 » Sat Jun 11, 2011 7:56 pm

Ok. thanks. thought that might be the case but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

also....I know back in the day there was a great post/thread on how to set proxies on majordeegan's/somdraft site. I'm pretty sure Adrian's draft runs pretty much the same. BUT...it's been a while since I've done a draft on somdraft or diamonddope so could someone either link that old post (if they still have it) or give a quick rundown on how to set up proxies.

thanks,

Paul

I too need some handholding to get started on diamond dope.

Also, it looks like we are on hold til Jun 18. One possibility is that we start the first round for the first 4 picks. Then, put everything on hold and do not start any kind of clock til June 19. I'm excited we got a league filled and would like to see how diamond dope works.

-Everyone...please let me know once you sign in to Diamond Dope...then I can create the draft...and it will then be active....
-Once the draft is active we can draft the first few picks...the 1st round will have NO time limit...
-Once the draft is created you can experiment with proxies...we will have time....
-Thank you ALL once again for joining!!! :D

I'm good with waiting until everyonr's back to start the draft. It does look like a very good group of managers and worth waiting 9 or 10 days for.

However there is no need to wait to sign up at diamondope so we can get the draft created.

How proxies work

Postby LMBombers » Sun Jun 12, 2011 7:39 am

you can set proxies for your choices. You can group them, so that you could rank all your secondbasemen, then when you get one, it moves to on to your next group of choices.

If you click on "create a proxy", then "find name" and "enter" the players name comes up in the box. Take the players ID #, and type it in where it says "Player ID" --- don't select round at all. In group, put "1", then in "priority" you can rank the player in the order you want him picked. If you only want 1 player in that group picked, you put "yes" where it says "delete if group picked" ... that way it only picks ONE secondbaseman, then moves to your next group.

For example, you might rank your 2B as group 1, putting Sandberg as priority 1, whitaker as priority 2, doran as priority 3. Once the draft selects a 2B for you, it will move to your next group. In group 2, do the same thing; list your top 5 centerfielders; once one gets picked, it will delete the remaining ones you don't want, and move on to your third group, etc.

Don't be skeered, it's pretty easy. You can turn proxies on or off. I only turn mine on if I'm away for more than a couple hours.

Do I have a user name on Diamond Dope? If not, how do I sign up?

I did that but it said no user name found. Then when I click on contact it tries to open outlook, but I don't have outlook set up. So, I can't contact them. Is there a way to get a username/password without going through Outlook?
