No Waivers

No Waivers

Postby chuckwonup » Mon Jun 13, 2011 3:55 pm

Could someone help me out. Was thinking of joining a league but if says no waivers which is a first for me. Does that mean after the season starts ? I sure hope it would not mean after the draft and then your stuck with that.
Any help or advise appreciated.

No waivers means "frenzy". Free agents are available at 12:05am after the draft. I think the draft is at 12:05 also so you don't get any time to check out your team while all teams are picking up players.

Before waivers were introduced all teams were drafted and all remaining players were available first come first serve. Many referred to this as the frenzy period because that is what it resembled. Many asked to keep that as an option when waivers were introduced as they enjoyed the adrenalin rush.

A fast internet connection and quick reactions could net good results. I remember one league where I was able to grab up Willie Mays and Robin Yount. :D Team cruised to 95 wins. I had other less memorable experiences where my internet connection dropped right as the team drafted and I got shut out on all desirable players. :(
