Guys - I'm now working on the roster update and hope to have it done by next weekend in time for the commish to email them out by Monday morning next week.

As to when we start - my schedule frees up a bit starting next week, so I'm good to go anytime after that.

Is everyone ok with this:

I finish the updates and the commish gets them out to everyone by next Monday, June 13th.

We spend the week making our drops - with drops being final Friday night, June 17th.

We freeze the rosters then (you can make deals, but can't announce them until the freeze is lifted) so I can update the update and get it out to the commish over that weekend.

We begin the free agent draft the following Monday morning, June 20th.

Also, in preparing the update I noticed that DreamingTree traded the same draft pick twice.

On 9/12/10 DreamingTree traded Todd Helton, Ryan Sweeney, and his [b:b68579708f]5th[/b:b68579708f] and 7th rd. free agent picks in 2011 to HKMossy (now Damien) for Andres Torres.

On 3/3/11 DreamingTree traded his 2nd and [b:b68579708f]5th[/b:b68579708f] rd. free agent picks and his 2nd rd. prospect pick to JMP1 for Manny Ramirez, Jair Jurrjens, JMP's 6th rd free agent pick and 4th rd. prospect pick.

DT and JMP1 will need to rework that deal to clear up the discrepancy.

I'm reposting this because it deserves some attention. I can recall numerous times when I've seen 90+ win teams lose out because of a strong division. In autoleagues that's just the bad luck of the draw. In keepers like this it offers it's own peculiarities.

The argument, as I see it, is this: what's the focus in forming divisions? Letting the top teams battle it out in one division with the knowledge that the subsequent re-seeding after the season will even things out over time.

Or do we put the top three teams in their separate divisions? There you run the risk of letting a monster continually win the division year after year. Which does sometimes happen too.

OR, what about a hybrid system - put the top 3 teams in separate divisions, then use overall records from the last season determine the rest? Like a mix of the way we do it now minus the best 3 teams, which automatically are in separate divisions.

I've created a separate thread for the drops.

Per the rules:

4) Prior to the draft, all owners must drop enough players to bring their rosters to a maximum of 30 players, allowing for 10 draft picks. Owners can drop below 30 players, but must not have fewer than 25 prior to the draft.

So - what you have to do is first promote any prospect you deem worthy, then drop enough players off your 40 man roster so that you're left with a roster no smaller than 25 players and no larger than 30 players.
