Hi all - back home - thanks for waiting!

Yes, I would like to know divisions too before we go too far. With the low cap the pick position isn't all that meaningful. Can we just do a separate randomizer for divisions?

Gentlemen,

I am sorry that it took me so long to draft today. I did not have computer access until this evening, and I have not been able to figure out how to set a proxy. If somebody knows how to set a proxy please let me know.

Thanks

Rick

I suggest we can do the divisions with another randomizer like we did for the draft order. So it could look like this...results 1,2,3 & 4 will be in East...5,6,7 & 8 will be in Central...and...9,10,11 & 12 will be in West....

To RickSmith: To create a proxy...after you log into the draft, and you see the home screen where you can search for a player, either type in a player you are looking for, or, search for a player by position (SP, RP, 1b, c, etc....). If you search by a specific player you will type in his name, then click the "Find by name" box. If you don't do this you will run a generic search based upon whatever is listed in the "Position" box. You can also set parameters to search for...ex. select "CA" from the "Position" box...select a price...select a sort (BA if you choose)...select hand (if you choose). Click "search"...and you will see your results. One very cool thing about Diamond Dope is that if you search for a specific player that has already been chosen in the draft, his name will not show up after a search. OK...so you click "search" and come up with your results. Over to the far right, past the "salary" field you will see a box marked "proxy". If you want to set a proxy for that player click that box. You will then be brought to "Your proxies" screen. There you can turn your proxies "on"...and set individual groups and priorities...you can even set priorities within groups... So you can make one BIG list or you can group them however you want. You can make a list of a certain position within one group. Say for your next proxy you want to create a list of CF'ers...you make your list and number the group...say "10"...make your list of however many you need to list...then prioritize within that group. I would also suggest to also click the drop down where it says "Remove if group picked". What this will do with your list of CF'ers is make sure once one of you players are chosen...you do not choose another player within that group so you don't double up on CF'ers. Then your proxies will move to the next group with your next pick. Just remember...after you set EACH proxy and place it in a group or reorder it...ALWAYS click the "Save" button...and oh yeah...click the button to turn "on" your proxies....

Sorry this is so long and I hope it helps you...let me know if you want to PM me if you need more help...or I can give you my number and I can explain some other strategies that are really hard to cover by type.

Good Luck!! :D

Guys: Do you want me to put a time limit on the draft after the 1st round is finished? My original posting for the league has a 3 hour time limit. I think we need something especially in the later rounds since we are drafting our entire team AND a ballpark...whatcha think?!?

won't be home til tomorrow to look, figure out the $$$$ (since I took big $ Reggie) and pick.

Said I'd be home late on the 20th and start on the 21st....so it may be two days before I can make this pick. I'll be in a car all day tomorrow driving home from Cali to AZ and have a few stops to make. Would pick now, but don't have any info here and very spotty internet connections that won't allow me to see the cards or go to berce's site and diamonddope wont show me cards either. so I'll have to wait til I get home to do the proper research. Too high $ of a guy at this point would kill my whole draft.

sorry, but I did say I'd be til the 21st.

thanks,

Paul

Paul...don't be sorry...it's all good! :D That's what you said in your post and it's only one more day away...take your time...make a smart pick...I will keep the clock off through the 21st at least.

And about the info on the cards on DD...Adrian didn't include the cards when he initially created the '69 season for his draft. He did this for time constraints and ease of creating the season to draft. We are the first group to use his site and draft the '69 season! So...we are...in effect...the pioneers of the '69 season on DiamondDope!!!! :D

Has everyone gotten comfortable with the site and figured out how to use proxies? I would like to have some kind of time limit.

In a 60 mil draft, even if you are skipped for a few turns, it doesn't make a big difference.
