I have him in CF on a 140 mil squad in Sportsman '41 and after 165 ABS he's hitting .297 with OBP of .371 with 14 homers, a triple and 12 doubles. His defensive rating on the card seems to match his play.

He usually does well for me as I've had him perhaps a half-dozen times in various parks.

You won't be disappointed by his card. I have had him several times and he always does well---It looks like you have him in our theme league and I am not really looking forward to seeing your team in Sportsman with him. I think he was a great pick-up for what it's worth.

I've had Stearnes a couple of times, but he's been a Turkey for me. In addition, he seems to routinely underperform in leagues that I'm in, generally putting up numbers in the .270 30 HR range. I seem to get more "bang for the buck" out of either of Duke Snider's cards or cheap Joe Dimaggio, depending on which ballpark is home. If I'm looking for some lefty OF offense in Stearnes' price range, I prefer to go a little cheaper in CF and pick up cheap Ted Williams or expensive Musial as corner OFers, as they seem to put up better numbers than Stearnes.
