Sorry for the delay, I'm confirming my trade with litangel -- his 6th and Belisle for my 4th and also Craig Breslow, since I have to cut him to make room.

I would like to propose that we cut the mandatory minimum of 10 roster cuts for the FA Draft (pre draft roster to 30 or less) to a mandatory minimum of 5 cuts (pre-draft roster to 35 or less). I think all of our teams are situated in such a way that 10 cuts seems way to much & that some of us would be making cuts that we might not necessarily want to make. This proposal doesn't take away the ability for someone to make 10 or more cuts if needed but it allows teams that don't have 10 cuts to worry about cutting people they may not want to cut under the current system plus we now have prospect promotions to consider which may limit a team's FA picks.
I always assumed that the deeper cuts were designed to get some of the better players into the free agent pool to move them around, as in free agency. "Better" being a relative term of course.
I don't have much of an opinion either way right now, until I hear some more discussion. Clearly I'm not much of a general manager anyway
I'm in favor of keeping it as is. I think 30 is a good number that allows you to keep the core of your team intact, but still ensures that there are quality players available in the FA draft. Especially since this league requires us to draft players with cards only, we have a relatively thin pool of players to choose from to begin with.
