200/60 Keeper League- Year 4

Postby kaviksdad » Mon Jun 27, 2011 2:46 pm

Ok, thanks.

Since this is only an 8 round draft you're going to be short 3 players at the end of round 8. (40 - 4 + 1 = 37)

So you'll get 3 supplemental picks in the supplemental round after Round 8 to fill out your roster. Whether they'll be consecutive picks I can't tell right now - have to see who else will end up with a short roster.

Then I traded Abreu, Pineiro, Braden, Fukodome and a non-carded pick and eventually received 3 FA picks, 1 non-carded pick and Braun.[/quote:d3abf136b2]

I received 3 FA picks during these trades, so I will be at 40 after the draft.

Comprende, Senor?

Just Joshin.' :)

One of those 3 picks was yours originally.

After your last free agent pick (Mike Morse) you currently have 40 players on your roster.

You have 7 picks remaining in the draft (one pick in rounds 4, 5 and 6 - 2 picks in rounds 7 and 8).

So you actually have one pick coming in the supplemental portion of the draft - essentially "round 9"

So it's not 3 - it's 1.

And if I could learn how to count without taking off my shoes I'd do a lot better...

Unfortunately for The Danger, this league doesn't have a "supplemental portion" after the normal draft ends.

From the rules:

[quote:24dc23d610]All teams will begin the season with 40 players and get 8 picks in the free agent draft unless the manager trades his picks. The total player pool (before the 2 player non-carded draft) will be 480 (40x12) and 96 ( 8 free-agent rounds). There is no maximum roster size. Nor is there a minimum. A player could have 50, but that means another player MUST therefore have less than 48. If a manager trades his 1st an 2nd round free agent picks for example, he DOES NOT get an extra 9th and 10th round to "get to 48."[/quote:24dc23d610]

Otherwise I would get an extra pick as well.

I stand corrected - boy did Terry put some "different" quirks into this league. Here I'm going by what's essentially "normal" for these kinds of leagues, forgetting that we're unique.

So, you gets whats you draft. If it adds up to 48 great. If not, you play short. Simple.

Thanks Andrew.

Oh, yeah and ditto what Kaviksdad said about Rant's pick!

Them's the Rules, as Rally Sally points out. I want everyone to realize how well Kaviksdad took the correction--- Outstanding job KD in keeping a level head and keeping us on track. It really is appreciated.

PS I didn't mean to keep everyone waiting for my 4th Round Pick, but I lost posting access to the site until just a bit ago... I could see, but not post! Very frustrating...

Absolutely! I'm sure this is the most aggravating league that he stewards. :D
