My wife and I celebrate our 31st anniversary Aug. 16th. So, since we both enjoy puzzles, and that Aug. is the EIGHTH month of the year, my theme will incorporate 8 stipulations. This will be an $80m cap, with DH.
1. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as any past U.S. [b:75c4e0da55]President[/b:75c4e0da55]. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
2. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as a [b:75c4e0da55]Color[/b:75c4e0da55]. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
3. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as a [b:75c4e0da55]Creature/Animal[/b:75c4e0da55]. Plurals and Homophones are allowed. EX - FOXX & BYRD would be ok, as would Lyons. Cardenal & Kaat would not, as their names are not pronounced the same as the bird and feline. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
4. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as an [b:75c4e0da55]Occupation[/b:75c4e0da55]. Plurals and Homophones are allowed. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
5. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as any [b:75c4e0da55]Item you can hold in one hand[/b:75c4e0da55]. Plurals and Homophones are allowed. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
6. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose LAST name is the same as a [b:75c4e0da55]Geographic place you could visit and/or find on a map[/b:75c4e0da55]. Plurals and Homophones are allowed. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
7. You must have one (& ONLY one) player on your roster whose card is from the [b:75c4e0da55]year 1980[/b:75c4e0da55]. If a position player, he MUST start. If a starting pitcher, he MUST start every 4th or 5th day (depending if he is a SP* or a SP). If he is a RP, he MUST be assigned either the Closer, Setup or Middle man role.
8. You may only select [b:75c4e0da55]Parks that have an "8" in their years[/b:75c4e0da55], i.e. Royals '80, Three Rivers '78, etc. There are twenty nine of these parks, I believe.
I think/hope putting your team together with these stipulations will prove somewhat challenging, and create lineups/staffs that we don't usually see. I have checked, and there are plenty of players for each stipulation.
