All I can say on this is I've gotten bizarre offers and made bizarre offers . . . both ways. I've offered BIG stars for two lesser players. Sometimes that "Star" is not performing, or he is part of an embarrassment of riches in pitching, let's say, where I needed to shore up my offense. In that case, trading away Maddux or Pete Alexander for Rose and Clemente, let's say could make sense.
You can always say "no," is my philosophy, and I never have hard feelings.
The only time I DID not like it was when, as a rookie, a veteran manager made me a trade offer which looked spectacular . . . except that the guy I was getting had a "4" injury rating. I was . . . peeved. But it really is caveat emptor, I guess.

A wonderfully thoughtful and "fair" offer from Valen:
I give up Greg Maddux. He gives me Tim Keefe and his worst reliever, Franco, who I clearly don't need. I sent several counters, including an offer of giving him Otto Hess for the cheap Pedro.

You have sent me some fairly pathetic offers in past leagues Dharma. But not to worry. I will never send you another offer. Don't bother sending me any either.
In fact, I think all the people rude enough to post here making fun of people will be added to a list of no trade with managers. The spirit of the boards has been changing over the last year. Mean spirited threads like this one just make you regret bothering to visit the boards.

My intention when I started this thread was keep anonymous the originator of the trade offers;
that way no one would be tied to any specific offer- which I mentioned we all make silly offers sometimes;
For me personally, it was my way of dealing with getting frustrated with trying to get on the same page with folks- who in some cases saw things pretty differently than I did.
I think maybe it should have stayed anonymous.

I kind of thought the thread was kind of an interesting idea, but
it has been interpreted by different managers in different ways,
i.e., which is the biggest value difference in trade, which offer
would require the most logic defying analysis (insane trades)
regardless of value, and what seemed to be your original intention,
to vent frustration from an offer.
I thought some alternative threads that might be interesting could
be:
1. what is the most lopsided opening trade offer that turned into a
trade after counter offers (i.e., one looked past the initial lightness
of an opening offer)
2. what trades had the worst consequences for both teams
3. what trades have actually come out win-win for both teams (as in, both
teams actually got better and actually made the playoffs, etc.)
that way no one would be tied to any specific offer- which I mentioned we all make silly offers sometimes;

I actually have a good time trading with some of the people who post here because we have some great back and forths when we are trying to trade;
See, for me, one of the fun things is to understand where the other manager is coming from- and therefor we can either hammer out a deal, or mutually decide that a deal just wouldn't make sense- I really enjoy trying to be creative in coming up with stuff-
and really would be happy not to play such a long season, because drafting and trading is the most fun for me.
