Metzger tearing the cover off the ball!

Postby Larryrickenbacker » Sun Jun 19, 2011 1:53 am

Howdy,

After 63 AB, Roger Metzger has a shocking .903 OPS for my Astrodome team in a 70s league! His OBP is a torrid .429, btw. OK, OK, so he'll come down to earth and probably land pretty [i:61c5c9ac02]hard[/i:61c5c9ac02], but holy cow!
Please chime in with your pleasant surprises. Also, Rick Miller and Brohamer are hitting the ball quite well so far, but it isn't so surprising.

PS: 127 At-Bat update..Metzger has an .850 OPS. Unbelievable.

203 AB: OPS of .696

Howdy,

Metzger's slugging saga seems to be finally winding down. His OPS has dipped below .700 here in the Astrodome-a pitcher's park, to be sure. With 203 AB, Metzger's OPS is .696 Sure was a fun ride, and all for cheap.

What will it be after 500-600 AB? You don't draft Metzger for his bat. LOL Anything over .250 from him is just gravy.

Howdy,

LMBombers: After 225 AB, Metzger's OPS is now back over .700! He's spraying Triples all [i:21a1a370e3]over[/i:21a1a370e3] the place. 30 RBIs isn't bad for just 63 games.. Did I get my $1.82's worth or what?
I wholeheartedly agree with you; Should Metzger hit a paltry .150 from here on out, he's earned double his salary, given his defensive prowess.

PS: Just an exclaimation point: Our home park is the [i:21a1a370e3]Astrodome[/i:21a1a370e3], so it's not like Roger is piling up big numbers in someplace like Wrigley. Our league has three Astrodome teams, fwiw.
