Thanks Jack
1) All players from drafted franchises would be ineligible for free agency even if traded or dropped. In other words, however they were acquired they would be the property of the last owner, even if he dropped the player off his roster. He could move those players back and forth on roster at will (subject to salary cap). Phillies and players from the five nondrafted franchises would be free agents if they are dropped off a roster.
[b:f0da672cdc]This I understood and seems like it is fixed.
Any player who is on one of the selected franchises will belong to someone and are definitely not part of the FA pool[/b:f0da672cdc]
2) We could have a reserve squad (5-6 players?) that would be permanently owned, even if dropped from SOMO roster. The 28 players that start the season on the roster would also be permanently owned and could be exchanged with players on the reserve squad. Reserve roster real life MLB team would not matter, though the "9 and 1 Phillie on active roster rule" would still apply.
[b:f0da672cdc]I guess this option is a bit new to me but again, I thought that any player picked up as part of the FA draft or frenzy if they are not on the active roster then they are part of the FA pool.

[b:f0da672cdc]The original rule seems to me to be the easiest to implement during the season. Keeping track on a supplementary list somewhere makes it difficult to determine who ( if anyone , is actually part of any FA pool.)

as an aside, heck I have already lost track of who is on what franchise team but at least I know that if a player is on one of the selected teams, he is not available to help me when I stumble during the season !
