Just a suggestion for future franchise leagues. I'd be more interested in joining one if multi player conflicts were resolved by the player salary then leaving the chances up to how the autodraft decides who gets who. You could rank a player first and still not get him in the event of a tie with more than one manager ranking same player first on their draft card. For example with my suggestion Hornsby would be assigned to Cards without possible conflict involved with his also being a Cub in ATG (higher salary on Cards wins spot for team) Maybe my suggested rule has been used before, i don't recall ever seeing it.

Exactly. I'll pick Old Cards if I can get [b:0ff066e38b]either[/b:0ff066e38b] Hornsby or Musial but it won't be much fun if I get shut out of both.

I agree with your point, and it is a good suggestion. The only problem I see is that the higher priced card is not optimal in all situations. For example, sometimes the lower priced player is a better fit based on another teams needs. So dealing with the uncertainty is part of the game. As you knwo in some leagues we assign key players.. but that is time consuming and I don't want to take the trade offs of constructing a roster away from fellow managers..

If the higher priced card is not optimal, it's not a problem, as the manager with the rights to the lower priced card would then be able to use his rights to the player.

PillPop, thanks for jumping in and taking the last team to get us going. Stu, I'm glad to be doing battle with you again. It's been too long. Maybe we'll get to do battle in the Barnstormers Tour Tournament.
