1986 Langston

How has Mark Langston fared for you in the 1986 season? Or maybe you've noticed how his card has performed with other teams. How did it do? His card seems like a huge bargain but you never know.

He's cheap as hell so I gave him a chance at Royals Stadium (my home Park). I'm in a definite pitching division with the Astrodome, Comiskey (old obviously), and Cleveland Stadium.

i've used his 84 card in atg. in parks that greatly favor lhbs. if you face heavy rhb lineups forget it. also if your division has rhb hitter parks for hrs i'd try not to start him on the road if possible.

Would Andy Hawkins be a decent alternative vs heavy righty lineups and HR Parks?

Hawkins is a 6R righty and costs only .90 mil.

He's a somewhat seldom used guy in '86 from what I have seen. Here he did well at Fulton County:

Really more a hitter's park guy than a Royals stadium guy. Obviously he's going to be trouble with teams that have few lefties.

With all the walks he gives (subbing for hits) it would seem he'd be effective in a pitcher's Park as well.

I like Wegman. He has a "*" and costs .68, lets you load up on offense to slug it out in the hitting parks. There are plenty of decent sub-$1.50 SP's who can pitch in a hitting park.

To clarify, Wegman being so cheap lets you load up on offense to slug in hitting parks, then I get another SP to match up in the hitting parks. Someone like Danny Jackson, Doyle Alexander, etc., leaving Wegman to pitch almost exclusively at home. This is somewhat ideal if you are in a division as described above with mostly pitching parks. Two or three more pitching orientated parks in the league would make it possible Wegman may never see a hitting park.
