2cityfan: I've got the Phillies. I understand that the Negro League team gets 7 free agents less than $4 mil, but since having the NLers is already a HUGE advantage, I think those free agents should come from the leftovers not wanted by any team, as there is a LARGE player pool left over, but each of the other franchises only has a limited pool of players from which to choose. I had Warren Brusstar on my draft card, but he ended up with the NLers. I'm sure other teams were affected as well, as the NL manager obviously put his 7 free agents at the top of his card, as the rest of his players were protected from being drafted by any other team, while everyone else's players less than $4 mil were not protected from being snatched by the Negro League team. This isn't about Brusstar, it's about fairness. Given that the NLers are the ONLY TEAM to draft free agents, they should only get those FAs from players nobody wanted.
Alternatively, a fair solution would be to give each team that lost a player to the Negro League team a free agent "compensation pick" worth up to $4 mil.
How about a ruling on this issue?
