This Pirates fan deeply appreciates your good wishes; I must say I'm still fearful of a second half meltdown. Call it two-decade fatigue or simply a creeping pessimistic streak but I don't believe their pitchers will continue to all have career years and remain healthy. The hitting has been opportunistic but they still are far from a fear-inducing lineup.

I remain skeptical that ownership will be serious buyers at the trade deadline, too.

Having said all this, they are fun to watch again and I sincerely hope I am incorrect and they go on to have a "Mets of '69 " experience! Hurdle deserves serious manager of the year consideration for his work here, IMHO.

You guys certainly could finish over .500. That would be a big step forward right there.

As soon as the platers propelling the resurgence need to be paid, they will be gone. Better of rooting for a new team.

All the peripherals say that your scouting was right. So, either it's a destiny thing, or there will be reversion to a very mean mean.
