24-team $100M, DH Live Draft on Diamond Dope

[quote:5e1e42fa5e="Novie"]Realize that proxie setting in a 24 team draft is somewhat difficult, but jeez we are almost 24 hours in and the 1st round isn't even completed.

I sure hope there is a 1 to 2 hour window in place after round 1.[/quote:5e1e42fa5e]
Chill!

We're averaging better than a pick an hour--the clock is off overnight. This draft will be over before you know it. Try to enjoy it.

I think proxies are for those that don't really care about drafting the best possible team....I haven't D. D. drafted in awhile but in almost every one I had been in, at least one owner complained that he wouldn't have drafted so and so had he known there'd be a run on Shortstops or lefty rps (as example)

Sure the pool is much bigger, but as evidenced by even some of these early pick i.e. Pudge in round one, it's clear that quantity doesn't always replace the best quality piece for your team puzzle.

I know some are good enough (not me) and love the challenge of making lemonade from lemons that a bad pick or two from the proxy is no big deal...I'm cool with them...and I'm cool with those that don't set proxies either.

I'm chill. I realize the first round went well. I have been in enough live drafts that I know the later rounds are where you bog down and a clock (plus the ability on DD to proxy) sure help keep it going. That's why I mentioned the clock.

I think it is going very well.........I'd like to enjoy the draft part of it anyways, so don't mind it taking a little longer....... :)

ouch. 1 pick away from pairing up Gibson (7L) with Bagwell (9L). Would have been interesting.

oh well.

LaGrandeOrange took Frisch and now it's gone. What happened to the pick? jamesgang has been up for an hour, but now it looks on the draft like Lagrandeorange is up because Frisch is dropped (no longer there)....
