A sale would be nice. Also player rewards--every 10th or 20th team purchase gives u a freebie? BTW....nobody wants to join KEVs new 24 league becuz of al the scary players in the league I think this league will be real true test to see if I can compete with SOMOs best

I am broke   . I have 1 credit left for the rest of this card set unless I win some with the last 2 teams I have.
I think that all the suggestions here are good but the economy just doesn't allow some of us the money to play as much as we would like.

I usually play around 25 teams per season. I'm in 4 keeper leagues so that takes up 8 teams. I play in the tour so that takes at least 5, maybe 6 or 7. at the beginning of every card set I usually join 3 or 4 auto leagues quickly. so after all is said and done that's around 17 teams. So to fill in another 8 teams isn't that difficult. A theme league would have to really interest me to join. I've played in a couple but more often that not I don't get the same enjoyment out of them.

I find I spemd alot of time on my keeper league teams and during their draft season's I don't generally join other leagues.

Even if I get 5 free credits during a season the other 20 teams cost me $400 a year. That's alot of $$$ in my books.

I think this league is filling pretty quickly myself. I think a few 24 team leagues were started (or maybe completed) as soon as Bernie announced the extra credits to be won and new playoff structure. I think these other leagues got a head start over Kev's league. This league is now picking up steam as it nears completion.

I like the idea of if you buy say 9-10 teams you get one free or something like that. I have 5 active right now....that's $100 there about. Just some incentive like that would be nice. Though it does get to be a lot when you get more than three teams. We need to find a way to entice new players. Maybe a thread in the SOM World Forum for online Sporting News players would help....

They already have a deal better than that. If you buy 8 teams they give you 2 teams for free. It is called buying two 5 packs.

I also don't think the price is the issue. It is my wallet that is the issue.

I used to draft a team a week, but like some here, lack of disposable income is one of the larger reasons for no playing as much. Like Schnoogens, I am also in a few keeper leagues that allow me to follow rl baseball and for my $20 get to enjoy the team year round through trades, research, etc.

Two weeks ago I drafted my first auto league team for 2011, having only participated in pre-card drafts or my keeper leagues. While the team is presently in 1st, the other main reason why I participate in so few auto-drafts leagues haunted that team. Missed my first 5 draft selections!!!

It still boggles my mind why in this day and age we can't have a draft system every other "fantasy draft" league has. In short, ranking players in order of preference. While not a computer expert, based on every site in the world using this system, it seems reasonable to me it would not be hard to program.

Give me that option, and I'll be first in line to buy my next 5-pack. [/b]

too many leagues.....

Postby jerryjewell » Wed Jul 20, 2011 5:13 pm

folks, currently 103 teams signed up and nearly 50 leagues forming. That's crazy. How about limiting the number of active leagues forming to 3 or 4 for each category. When one fills, another opens so there are always no more than 3 ATG, 3 2010, 3 2009, etc., leagues forming at one time. Does it really make sense to have 38 ATG teams trying to fill 21 ATG leagues? These aren't actual numbers, but I hope you get the gist. Anyway - just a spur of the moment thought after looking at the 50+ leagues that are currently trying to form.
