You ***** about this trade? Yet, Qksilver all but robs Rant on a deal for Hosmer and nothing gets said? really?
I gave up a lot in this deal. Gio Gonzalez will be a 6-7M+ pitcher next season and for the next 10.
Drew Stubbs obviously has more upside than Torri Hunter (he is 10 years younger and is a great CF with speed and some pop... if he ever hits for average ...) and Jose Veras has a 1.1something WHIP. And Roger Bernadina is a great OF with speed who can play all 3 positions and can really help a team with depth and maybe even start a couple of years out of the next 10, since he is young too.
Meanwhile, I get back Austin Kearns who is done after this season, and Matt Thornton, who has a 1.6 something WHIP in 2011. And Hunter? I doubt he ever gets above a .700 OPS again at age 36-37 and is now a below average RF and not a great CF.
The only player I get with upside is Jimenez and with Coors Field behind him he may never have a card like 2010 again. He is hot right now, but still has a 4.01 ERA and 1.35 WHIP.
I expect everyone I got but Jimenez will be a drop for me next season. Everyone I gave up is worth keeping.[/quote:08c07b8d59]
I still think JLaw got robbed -- but if he's happy, it's OK with me, I guess.
