How are division assignments established? Top teams together, bottom teams together?

the year 1, 1st season division assignments will be random. From there on out, we will group by record. the 1st season of each new year will be on cumulative record and the second season of each new year by record of the 1st season of that year.

best with best, otherwise records get a little out of hand (120 win teams feasting on 40-win teams)

I definately agree, but wanted to get more specific with our rules.
