SS question

SS question

Postby 1crazycanuk » Mon Mar 27, 2006 11:27 am

I'm playing in Coors and I have Bobby Crosby and Jack Wilson at SS. I'm wondering if I should play Crosby at home and Wilson on the road in pitchers parks? Not quite sure how to best use the both of them.

Kinda depends upon who else you have in the lineup.

If you got enough power in the lineup, you can do it the way you want to.

If not, then have Crosby play all the time, and have Everett come in as a defensive replacement late in the games...:P

Ok thanks. I guess I can kinda mix it up a little here and there.

On a side note...it's wise to have none of your pitchers IBB hitters in Coors eh?

Ummm...

I rarely go with SP's that are heavily balanced to 1 side or the other.

With the RP's that I use, if they are heavily balanced to a side, I usually check off "Avoid R/L batters, repectively".

I want my unbalanced RP's facing their strong side. I really don't care about the park.

My 2 cents...

I hear ya socal. I was just thinking...in a park like Coors you want to make the opposition earn a base. You don't want to give them a free pass to get one more guy on base and then get slammed for a three run homer, etc.

Ditto on the free pass. Very conservative here also.

In my view intentional walks are horrible in almost every situation although most especially in hitters' parks like Coors.

I agree with all you guys.

I didn't even give free passes playing in Petco. My philosophy (even if I were a pitcher) is to hit the dang ball if you want on base.

Actually, I don't always go conservative on BBI. If the best player in the opposite team has a very good clutch, especially if he's followed by a poorer line-up, then I turn to normal.

But I do agree that Coors is probably the least park I would like to not be conservative on BBI.
