Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

A couple of questions as I am fairly new to this. I really enjoy the 70's game. I would appreciate help on a couple questions.
1. Does it help to rest field players/starters periodically by platooning or is their effectiveness the same without days of rest for fielders? In other words does the game engine reward regular players for some rest?
2. Are SP who are 4 game* starters more effective if they are given the extra day (4days rest) between starts though they only need 3?
Thanx- appreciate any other advice any could offer

Are pitcher's effectiveness increased with a better catcher- say a 1 or 2?

1. Play your starters as much as possible. They won't perform better with rest. Any "rest" they may be required to have will work itself out through injury rolls. And the injuries won't become less likely with rest.
2. No. Again start them as much as possible.
3. If I understand your pitching effectiveness based on the catcher question - no. Your pitchers won't perform any better with Bench catching then they will with Wathan catching. Now their ability to catch/prevent stealers will be better with Bench's -4 throwing rating, but no bonus for his ability to "call a game"

And oh yeah.....welcome to the 70s game. Probably my personal favorite of all the offerings here at TSN (the 80s game is a close 2nd).

Thanks so much- I appreciate the advice from veterans. That's what I wanted to know. I grew up following the 70's. I'm in the new League forming private- 2 slots open. Anything else I come across, I may bend your ear again- thanx
