Remember guys, (unlike Qk's HCKL) we cannot draft this year's MLB draft class in the prospect draft. This league runs the same version of prospect rules as USKL3, MLKL, etc.

Actually KD, our rules in GMKL specifically STATE:
"
4) Only those players without MLB experience, and who have been drafted or signed by any professional baseball organization are eligible for any prospect draft.
"
He was drafted, though not signed by the drafting team (yet!). You can see it on the GMKL Roster update under RULES. I checked that out long before I made my choice.

Guys - we've had this argument before, and the rules we're clarified right after Dave instituted the "anybody in the world" is eligible for his league's prospect draft.

We've been doing it this way since, and having this conversation each year as someone tries to draft a current year MLB draft pick.

The reason your copy of the rules doesn't have the clarification is probably due to an old copy of the rules being inserted into a roster update and never caught...until now.

The next update will contain the amended rules regarding prospects.

I never expected to have to fight about this, since it was so clear-- and that's why we have two rounds of prospects, I thought, but if you can show me where it states that this year's class is ineligible, I can accept your ruling. The Rules do not say that.

If I am overruled I will not be grouse on and on, but I would like to believe that the Rules are the Rules sent out with the last Roster Update (which I foolishly believed were official and are up-to-date.

As to drafted and not signed, I simply quoted the Rules and did not attempt to twist them in some bizarre manner.

That said, I know KD's not out to get me (not sure of everyone else :cry: ) so would appreciate the Rules being corrected. Niner's comment above really has nothing to do with what I stated. BUT, now that my memory has been jogged-- or kicked in the head, I do remember that the topic has been gone over here, or in one of our mutual leagues together so won't demand that someone search through all the threads to find it.
