1st Draft - Either I'm the best drafter ever or the worst...

Sweet! Thanks. I didn't know that.

Ready for opening day. Have a solid def (cf1(-2), 2b1, ss2, c1)(1b1, 3b1, lf3(+2), rf2(0) and was able to downgrade my SP to upgrade many obp's.

Still have one dilemna in my mind. Dykstra is available (cf2(+1), AA*, 2.2Injury, 390+OBP). Grissom is cf1(-2), AA*, 325 OBP, and no injury issues.

When considering my other players, is the downgrade from 1 to 2 in range and -2 to +1 in arm defensively worth the upgrade to OBP from 325 to 390+ with the injury risk playing at the Astrodome (2, 2, 2, 2)?

I would go with Dykstra. His 2 high injury years are years you want to cut, which is good because it should be easier to indentify those years. Not sure what you are doing at 3b -- I would go with Cirillo and use Caminiti's money to upgrade at DH and maybe elsewhere. You need to be willing to cut everyone on your roster if you hit one of their bad year(s).

Thanks. I was considering rotating Harper and Caminiti at DH types. Against lefties, Harper at DH and Cirillo at 3b. Against righties, Caminiti at 3b since he is a better fielder and Cirillo at DH.

You may be right though. I may be better off dropping Caminiti and finding a cheaper DH against righties. I could use that money to possibly bolster my bullpen a little more.

My 2 cents...

C- Not crazy about Johnson, but there are worse options
1B- Like Grace
2B- Like Ryno
SS- Ozzie is OK, not gonna get much
3B- Cirillo is fine.
LF-
CF- Like Dykstra here.
RF-
DH-

Your bullpen is fine. Put your BP settings on conservative.

I'd dump all the cheap $1 or so guys, and get yourself some corner OF's and a DH.

Greer should be fine, but I think you still need a better LF/RF and a better DH. When looking at a platoon, look for guys with a high L or R slant. Guys like Baines, Klesko, Stairs, etc. make good lefties DHs. You should look for guys who are 4 defensively so you aren't paying for D then DHing him.

Greer "should" be, but I've never seen him do well.

My brain hurts. I will think about what you've said.

Can you explain BP? Forgive the ignorance.

As of now I am using Cole against righties and Winfield vs lefties. Against righties more of a pure speed strategy. Versus lefties, a little bit more pop.

I could consider dropping my 3rd starter (Rogers) down a considerable bit to the 3 mil range and make that spot my 4th starter. I could also consider dropping both my 3rd and 4th starters down to the 3.5 mil range. This would allow me to possibly upgrade one outfield position and possibly get a better lefthanded DH. Could consider dropping Eck down a notch too, but I already downgraded my starting pitching quite a bit.

I thought Bip had a decent average, good spead, and good OBP. Defense is lacking, but other than that I thought he was good fit for the Astrodome. I will look at the right fielders and see what's available.

Thanks.
