New: Game Replay - watch any past game unfold play-by-play!

Postby theClaw » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:02 am

Just used this feature for the 1st time. I blocked the results and watched all three games unfold. I have to say that I enjoyed the play by play experience. I am sure it helped that my team swept...winning in xtra innings
the third game of the series. I believe this feature will cause me to choose to play the newer sets more often.

no playback available for me tonight, anybody else having issues? freezes after the first batter and the slider for speeding up/slowing down is there but not adjustable

Worked fine here. I watched 9 games play. I cussed a little, well, a lot, but the app worked. It definately is exciting to watch smallball on it. I highly recommend that you all build smallball teams to watch play!

And...

....the 70's game is ignored once again. One credit left and I will take a looooong break. The 70's game is stale. Bernie has teased us for a couple of years about the 70's game(and 60's Pirates) but nothing new. So long strat fanatics.

After a few days of this, I am loving it even more.

1. I squint and carefully click the binoculars on the game I want to see. I look forward to the hiding of the line for each game, which should be a lot of fun.

2. I didn't realize how much fun suspense there is watching the whole game unfold. Pulse pounding, in my case.

3. I move the slider to a notch below the fastest speed (I'll call this 90%) [b:06b3e02256]at that speed, the whole game plays in less than 4 minutes.[/b:06b3e02256] With the slider right in the middle, [b:06b3e02256]a whole game plays in about 11 minutes[/b:06b3e02256]. I like the quicker speed.

4. If I am in a real hurry, the fast forward button displays the next half-inning. (As my train pulls into Penn Station, I sometimes have to do this with the game I am finishing viewing.)

Wonderful, Bernie. This increases my enjoyment manifold.

I was kind of ambivalent about this at first, but I have to say it has turned in to a pretty cool feature. I don't use it for regular middle-of-the-season games, but it is fantastic for the playoffs and end of season playoff races.

New: hide your scores

Postby bernieh » Thu Aug 18, 2011 10:51 am

[b:0113c3f1c3]UPDATE: Hide your scores[/b:0113c3f1c3][/color:0113c3f1c3][/size:0113c3f1c3]

You now have the option to [b:0113c3f1c3]hide your scores/results from your Front Office and Your Teams pages[/b:0113c3f1c3] each day, to give you the chance to watch your Game Replays in full suspense. You can activate or de-activate this option individually for each of your teams at any time, and you can even apply your preference to all your active teams as a shortcut.

The link to change your preference can always be found under [b:0113c3f1c3]Your Account -> Hide/Show Scores preferences[/b:0113c3f1c3]. You'll also find a link that reads "Change your Hide/Show Scores pref." on your Front Office.

If you've chosen to hide your scores for a particular team:

- On the Your Teams page, the team's won/loss record and divisional standing will be obscured by question marks.

- On the team's Front Office page, your main headlines, divisional standings and injury report will be hidden, and last night's game results will be obscured by question marks. You can watch the Game Replay for any or all of your games, or you can go ahead and click links to reveal the score for each individual game or reveal all scores on the page.

- Note that for now, if you're in the Playoffs, there may be elements on the Front Office page that will immediately give away what happened last night, e.g. you'll see "World Champions!" even though your clinching Game 7 is still hidden, or you'll see a game scheduled for tonight, tipping you off that you weren't eliminated last night. ALSO, since all games of a series are shown on the Front Office during the Playoffs, they'll all be obscured, not just the previous night's game(s). Obviously this all is less than ideal and is being worked on.

Enjoy! And um, let me know if you find any problems.

This is terrific, thank you! One quick note though, you can still see the headlines in which you may see you got a sweep, or got swept, and so on.
