[quote:1f78cd00f8="Pirhala"]What I did find, however, is that any ball hit over the left field fence was considered a "groud rule" double. No wonder the highest homerun total for this team in 1879 was only 3, and all those were probably hit on the road.[/quote:1f78cd00f8]

I think an inside the park HR would be pretty easy if hit past the OF in right center or RF.

This is looking like a good idea. In Petco, for instance.

My dog also thinks a tree in CF at Petco is a good idea since the restroom lines are too long.

He went 4-4 with a walk, HR, Run scored, 2 RBI, but he was caught stealing once. This effort brought his average up to .304 in this young season.

The Winning pitcher was Al Brazle who is credited with a blown save and the win. He pitched 4 innings, faced 16 batters, gave up 2 hits, walked 2, 1 Run, 1 ER, and struck out 3.

The Losing pitcher was Jim Hearn who got lit up for 4 Runs on 8 Hits and 2 BB in 3.1IP.

This game was tied at 6 going into the bottom of the 8th where Stan Musial put the Cards ahead with a 3 run blast, driving in Moon, who singled, and Schoendienst, who walked. The inning was capped off with an RBI single from Alston to drive in Rebulski.
