ANDY'S 1926-1946 Franchise League

Postby thetallguy747 » Sun Aug 14, 2011 7:47 pm

I almost have my team (Yankees '35-'46) finished to complete the East. But I'm stuck. The basic issue is this: There are only 11 hitters in the Yankees 35-46 pool. One hitter (Buck Leonard) is assigned to me. That makes 12. Where do my other three hitters come from? Without 15 hitters I can't submit a team.

Kevin, There is still a problem, but I do count 14 players...........simply add an ineligible player and drop him after the draft.........

TWO things regarding Kevin's post about the 35-46 Yankees....

there are only 14 assigned and carded players for the Bronx Bombers.........I am adding Bernardo Baro NeL to their assigned players...I will edit the Roster Rules shortly...

Watch out as we formulate our first teams............there will be some issues like this, but we will try to resolve them all THIS season so there will be no more in the future

Guys, be sure to report here any problems with setting up your teams, so we can correct any issues in this inaugural season.

Bronx Bombers did not have enough hitters assigned to form a draft card, so I added 2 NeLers to their assigned players

Putting a draft card together may be [b:858e7471eb]hard [/b:858e7471eb]with this small pool----I am more interested if it is [b:858e7471eb]IMPOSSIBLE [/b:858e7471eb]:D

I am not worried about our 2 Rotated Out teams---the Cards and Giants, because they have the two biggest rosters in the whole league

The central is now full. Now go west, young men!

Being forced to work with some cards we normally never look at will give you some performances you may not have expected, and give you some new insight into Strat team creation in general

For instance, I like to use Freddie Lindstrom in a small-ball park. I like him in the 5 or 6 spot as a good RBI man. In the 1888-1925, I found Red Smith, a 3.25m 3b who is a great run producer in the 5 6 7 spots of a lineup. So, if i'm playing in a low cap, or if Lindstrom is gone and I want to splurge somewhere else, I may call old Red into action..............

If i remember right Red is a nice inexpensive doubles machine.
