[quote:e511fba5e2="keyzick"][quote:e511fba5e2="ehlekev"]Bill--I completely forgot about that league (even though my Twins won the championship)!!!!!! Your Rockies ended up 73-89. I suddenly want to change my pick.
I forgot that we had a baseline to look at. The difference is that league had the top tier teams in the mix (Yanks, Twins, Rangers, Giants, Phils, etc). Hopefully my Rockies will have better luck than you did against the top tier teams.
With that said, I would have taken the Red Sox in front of the Rockies if they were available. The Red Sox were 85-77 in that league. The evil Zim beat me to them.
I won't mention to Coachteel that the Cardinals ended up 66-96 in that league.

Ahhh!! I just looked back at that league...Kev's Twins took me 4 games to 3 in the Championship (I had the Red Sox).
I was down 2-1 in Game 7...Beltre hit a one out single with Varitek on first...it looks like Varitek must have tried to take 3rd on the play and was thrown out, with Beltre moving up to 2nd....then Mike Lowell pinch hit for Ryan Kalish, only to strike out against Brian Fuentes to end the game and the championship...sigh.
Hey Coachteel...on the glass is half full side - it was an $80M cap league, so I don't think the Cards got to use everyone you will.[/quote:e511fba5e2]
Thanks Keyzick. A trip down memory lane for one of my few teams to win a championship is awesome! Too bad my 97-win Royals team got swept out in the 1st round of this theme. Ironically, my Twins were the Wild Card team in that league. The Red Sox won my division.
Bottom line...always be the wild card. The wild card wins about 99% of the leagues. I'm pretty sure my math is right on this one.
BTW--don't give Coach anything to make him feel better.
