Relief pitcher settings

Relief pitcher settings

Postby EBH » Sat Aug 20, 2011 1:37 pm

My 4th reliever/dud is getting into too many games.

What settings will limit or stop his usage? He is realy driving up my era.
My other three relievers are great & I want them used as much as possible.

I would appreciate any recommendations!

Set his Fatigue rating to F8, check avoid righties AND lefties, Quick Hook AND avoid using before the 6th, 7th and 8th. If you have your bullpen responsibilities (Closer, Setup, Middle Man, R & L Specialist, etc.) assigned to the other RPs, this should drastically limit how often HAL puts the guy in. Just remember, in the end, HAL does what HAL wants, and he loves to put your worst RP in at crucial times, just to make you suffer. And, if the RP you want to avoid is an RP5, I have found those type of pen guys to be way too tempting for HAL to avoid. I try and keep the scrub RP5s off of my roster. Hope this helps.

figure out when u do actually want him to come in - it may be mop up or after the 8th inning (which would be rarely but may come in for extra innings or behind and late with after the 8th inning checked (assume u have a closer and he is max used)

My bad, F8 is the highest/quickest setting there is.
