One thing that helps a lot is deleting all your own past drafts.

Far as I know, only a draft administrator for each draft can delete a draft. Haven't found a way to delete any draft where I wasn't the administrator. Wish I could.....

I'd have to check with my ISP, but I doubt there's gonna be more cheese without more bread--which ain't happening.

But "deleting" old drafts should speed things up.
