Bernie should just get rid of the trade option...

It was a marginal pitching upgrade for a marginal hitting one. I am stunned by your lack of understanding on this point. As I have said, your player evaluation skills seem sorely lacking.

Hart has ALL of 33 Non-BP reaches on his card vs RH's. Bruce has the same. Hart has 4 more BP HR's vs Bruce's defense. Both you and mbertolli act like Hart is the second coming of Babe Ruth. You couldn't be more wrong...

No one is saying Hart is the second coming of anyone, we're just saying we think he is better than Bruce.

I would rather have Hart than Bruce + an extra 700K. I would also rather have Richard and an extra 2.8 mil than Greinke. That is all that I am saying.

I don't see what the big deal was about the counter either. I would probably rather have Verlander and Hart, but like someone else said maybe the other person was thinking you needed cap space to acquire/upgrade something else. Maybe he didn't want to deal Richard or Bruce unless he got something he really wanted in return. Did you reply to his trade asking him his thinking? (I'm guessing you replied and called him an idiot or something).

Again, I don't see the logic of asking for the trade functionality of strat to be removed based on this one 2-trade-offer sequence.

Hart is only BARELY better than Bruce - that is the point. Greinke is slightly better than Clayton. Thus, the original offer was a fair one. Throwing Verlander into the trade COMPLETELY SKEWS IT FOR ONE TEAM'S FAVOR. That is the point of this post - that 99% of the players on strat will ONLY trade when the trade is skewed ridiculously in their favor.

I made a bid on eBay, but it was less than the person wanted to sell the item for. Please shut down eBay.

Your comment is silly given the real thrust of the post was that players wont trade unless they are ripping the other player off - not that a player merely doesnt like the offers he is receiving...

You've hit the nail on the head concerning this thread! It gets my vote for the most silly message request made on the boards (and there have been quite a few)...

Crisis averted:

Shakey traded:
Bruce, Jay ($6,150,000)
Valverde, Jose ($3,840,000)
Verlander, Justin ($6,940,000)
Zumaya, Joel ($3,300,000)

for:
Hart, Corey ($6,780,000)
Rivera, Mariano ($5,510,000)
Balfour, Grant ($1,630,000)
Richard, Clayton ($1,070,000)

...but subsequently dropped Richard and used the extra cash to drink from the FA pool. Apparently trading still works! (Although the [i:4bf972d431]in the eye of the beholder[/i:4bf972d431] factor is off the charts in this thread!)
